Storing Duplo Rails
Once you have a lot of rails, it is interesting to have a good way of storing them during the times that your grandchildren are not around. I built a rack from a plank and a rod cut into pieces:
This is quick to make, and to my surprise it did not really matter that the rod was not cut at precise right angles to its length. It works very well for both straight and curved rails.
The rods are 23mm diameter and 145mm long, they are held by a 4×35mm screw through the bottom of the plank (a well-centred pilot hole in the rod is advised!) and pairs of holes in the plank are set 70mm apart with 65mm between the two rows.
